each year gives away
three $500 awards to the private study of
instrumental or voice lessons.

The Hernando Jazz Society had its 2011 Annual Scholarship Awards
Presentation at the Wellington Clubhouse, Spring Hill, FL, on May 15,
2011. This year, the HJS was pleased to award a total of seven
scholarships for a total of $2,500. This is four more scholarships than
usually awarded.
The winners pictured here are all from Springstead High School,

Megan Berube, Nina Morales and Danielle Lips.
An additional winner
was Daniela Serricchio from Nature Coast High School who was unable to
attend the presentation at the Wellington.
The Hernando Jazz Society, currently on summer recess, will return to
the Wellington on September 11, 2011, to kick of their 17-th season
with a 'Big Band Bash'.
